A Toyota electric with 1,000 km of range expected for 2026?

Toyota, one of the leaders in hybrid vehicles, has unveiled a plan for its electric cars. The Japanese company is particularly aiming for a battery with 1,000 km of range, as well as a ten-minute recharge.

The Japanese firm will launch a new range of electric vehicles starting in 2026. Five new vehicles are expected, including two SUVs, a compact car, a sedan, and a minivan. It has also announced improvements for electric vehicles.

A major battery improvement

Regarding the battery, there will be two types:

– The first, a high-power battery called “Performance,” will enable your vehicle to travel nearly 1,000 km without recharging. But that’s not all, this battery will be able to recharge from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

– The second battery is reserved for a lower-range electric vehicle lineup and resembles those of the brand’s hybrid lineup. It will have 20% more autonomy and will cost 40% less than the bZ4X, the Japanese company’s electric SUV.

In 2026/2027, the brand from the land of the rising sun hopes to offer the public a battery with a 1,200 km range, capable of recharging in 10 minutes.

Aerodynamics

Initially, Toyota plans to improve the aerodynamics of its vehicles for the next electric lineup. One key area of improvement is the battery. A new design, partly produced by artificial intelligence and further refined by the company’s designers.
