Véligo enhances its bicycle rental service
Véligo, the long-term bike rental service from Île-de-France Mobilités, is being renewed to cater to all residents of the region.
Véligo Location, launched in 2019, continues to develop in Île-de-France with an enhanced offer aimed at meeting the diversity of uses and making biking accessible to everyone. Since its inception, over 130,000 residents of Île-de-France have tested this long-term rental service, and the new generation of bikes aims to attract an even broader audience.
Starting in January 2026, Véligo will offer 19 models suited to all needs: improved electric assist bikes (EAB) with automatic gear shifting, integrated turn signals, and electronic locking, practical folding bikes for public transport, economical mechanical bikes starting at €10/month, cargo bikes for transporting children or groceries, and professional cargo bikes designed for artisans and freelancers. An inclusive range will also provide access to tricycles, tandems, and low-step bikes for people with specific needs. For these individuals, a mobility assessment conducted by a consultant or occupational therapist helps choose the most suitable bike.

The fleet expansion will be gradual, increasing from 20,000 bikes currently to 30,000 by 2028 and up to 40,000. Subscriptions remain attractive: from €10 per month for a mechanical bike to €88 for a personal cargo bike, with discounts of 50% for eligible individuals. Subscriptions are eligible for employer reimbursement and the Sustainable Mobility Package, encouraging the use of bikes for commuting.
To support this offer, Île-de-France Mobilités will open 16 Bike Houses by the end of 2026, distributed across the Île-de-France territory. These fixed or mobile locations will provide advice, trials, short-term rentals, repair workshops, and personalized support for all users, whether professionals or individuals with specific needs.
