Parking vélo RATP

Bicycle parking in Île-de-France simplified with 5,000 spaces available on the RATP network.

In Île-de-France, soft mobility continues to strengthen with the massive deployment of bicycle parking facilities. Thanks to the recent creation of a space near the Vincennes train station (RER A), 5,000 bicycle parking spots, whether secure lockers or free access, are now available on the network operated by RATP. This figure comes in a regional context where 21,000 spots are already accessible, a growth marked by an ambitious intermodality strategy.

With nearly one million daily bicycle trips, the use of this mode of transport has doubled in Île-de-France, prompting Île-de-France Mobilités to intensify its efforts. From 250 spots in 2014, the Île-de-France network has grown to 21,000 in 2024, a leap amplified by the organization of the Olympic Games. RATP has followed this momentum by multiplying its achievements: from 436 spots in 2021, it now offers nearly 5,000 spots spread across around sixty train stations.

The Vincennes site illustrates this progress with 438 spots, including 266 in secure lockers, developed in two phases since 2021. This project, funded by more than one million euros from Île-de-France Mobilités, reflects a desire to promote interconnection between bicycles and public transport.

To encourage the use of secure lockers, an attractive price has been set: free for annual Navigo subscribers and 2 euros per day for other users, down from 4 euros previously.

By 2029, the RATP network aims to have 8,000 spots thanks to new investments. At the same time, Île-de-France Mobilités is developing Bicycle Houses, fixed or mobile spaces dedicated to promoting cycling. With various services, they aim to facilitate bicycle use for all, thus reinforcing the regional commitment to sustainable and integrated mobility.
