Bastille, the folding bike by the creator of the YOYO stroller

Bastille offers the first true urban bike with large wheels that folds and follows you everywhere. Like a stroller, in fact!

Resulting from 8 years of R&D and multiple patents, the Bastille Bike is the realization of one man’s vision, Gilles Henry. This computer-aided design specialist joined Babyzen in the early 2010s with a magic patent in hand. In 2012, the YOYO was launched, revolutionizing the world of childcare. An ultra-lightweight and durable model, this stroller became the trusted companion of nomadic families— a treasured item passed among connoisseurs.

This virtuoso decided to focus on a new subject—the bicycle—and the first fruit of his fertile imagination is named Bastille. To bring his project to life, he involved cycle industry experts, including Julien Leyreloup, creator of Cycles Victoire. 

Forget the image you have of a folding bike with its minimal frame, small wheels, and look as glamorous as a vintage scooter from the last century. Comfortable, elegant, safe, and fully equipped, Bastille is a true bike that folds onto itself in just a few seconds once you get the hang of it. Aluminum frame, carbon fork, belt drive, 3-speed hub, hydraulic disc brakes, integrated lighting… Nothing is missing.

To achieve this, three patents have been filed. The seat post, frame, and stem feature an innovative kinematic mechanism that moves smoothly and simply… Like second nature.

Another positive aspect of this bike is that the frame is manufactured in Angers, by an aerospace industry specialist. The bikes are then assembled in the Aube department, at a historic mobility company.
