The repair bonus starts December 15th
The launch of the repair bonus is set for December 15th, aiming to increase the number of repairs by 20% each year. “Support for repairs is a concrete measure that extends the lifespan of our everyday products”, declares Christophe Béchu, Minister of Ecological Transition. “It’s good for purchasing power because repairing is cheaper than buying new. And it’s good for the planet: a repaired device saves resources and avoids greenhouse gas emissions.”
This aid concerns around thirty types of electrical and electronic products. It ranges from televisions to computers, including toasters and vacuum cleaners. Good news for everyday mobility: electric bicycles and scooters are included! The State grants only 15 euros, but enough to support the replacement of a component. Note that the aid also includes electric gyropodes and hoverboards.
How to get the bicycle repair bonus?
To repair your vehicle at a lower cost, you must go to a repair shop labeled “Quali Repar”. The bicycle or scooter repair bonus requires this to get guaranteed repairs and national aid. Only these repair shops can deduct the aid amount from your repair receipt. They handle the administrative process to simplify the measure.
Attention, electric scooters or bikes under warranty or insured are not eligible.
Currently, the ministry indicates that “400 stores and 700 home repairers are labeled across mainland France.” In 2023, the repair bonus will extend to other items such as textiles or sports equipment. Thus, jackets for cyclists or helmets will be eligible! However, no amount has been announced yet…
