Discovering Véligo tricycle and longtail bike offers

The back-to-school bells have rung, the weather is beautiful, and why not try biking?

Are you from Île-de-France and want to adopt a more sustainable mobility option permanently by switching to an electric assist bike (EAB)? Véligo offers several rental options to help you make this transition.

Launched in September 2019, the Véligo service provided by Île-de-France Mobilités quickly gained popularity among residents of Île-de-France looking to switch to cycling. The goal of the service is clear: convert users to electric bikes, to move towards less polluting mobility (compared to cars), or to supplement public transport, or simply to stay active and enjoy the outdoors. By May 2022, Véligo had surpassed 50,000 subscribers and has since expanded its offerings to maintain its position in an increasingly competitive market.

In addition to the original classic EAB that Mobiwisy has tried, there are now a tricycle and a lengthened or long tail bike.

The tricycle cargo bike is slightly wider than a standard EAB, but it offers more stability and more space. It is ideal for transporting children (up to 2 children between 3 and 10 years old), animals, groceries, or other heavy loads thanks to its front box (loading capacity up to 60kg). The extended bike is more similar to the classic EAB and is perfect for transporting up to 2 children at the back (between 2 and 4 years old with a child seat or between 5 and 15 years old without a child seat) and a maximum of 60kg.

For the classic EAB, the subscription lasts 6 months fixed, with the possibility to extend up to 3 additional months. A major change is that the price has decreased and is now set at 20 euros per month, down from 40 previously. The former rate of 40 euros per month now applies to the tricycle and extended models. The rental period is limited to 1 month (renewable twice for 1 additional month) or 3 months (non-renewable).

In all cases, subscribing until at least the early winter is advisable. So isn’t this the perfect opportunity to enjoy an Indian summer with your face in the wind and try a new mode of transport?
