Le Formidable, a well French electric cargo ship

Combining the concepts of two-wheelers and longtails, the Formidable by Galian offers a new mobility solution.

This Formidable is the latest creation from Galian, a team of Rennes enthusiasts passionate about decarbonized mobility. The idea is to提供 both the space and stability of a cargo bike with the maneuverability of a traditional bicycle to replace the car in everyday life. 

The Formidable is a true multi-tool. At the front, there is an ABS box made in France, with side doors for easy access. It can hold up to 2 children, groceries, or even professional equipment. At the rear, an extended rack can transport 2 children or an adult. All of this without sacrificing ease of handling, thanks notably to its short turning radius, its compact length of 250 cm, and its width of 70 cm.

It is equipped with a French motor, the Cyclee from Valeo, which provides a torque of 130 Nm. Additionally, the Formidable features an automatic transmission and a 630 Wh battery, offering up to 80 km of autonomy. The bike also has large, comfortable tires and a cable steering system for better maneuverability. For safety, it is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and powerful lighting.

Cocorico

The assembly of Galian bikes is done in Rennes, in an old factory of the PSA group. Over 80% of the components of this new Cargotail are made in France, including major parts such as the Valeo automatic gearbox and the motor. The aluminum frame is also welded and painted in France. The company plans to produce 150 units in 2024, with nearly fifty already sold. 

Even its creators acknowledge that the Formidable is a significant investment, starting at 9,230 euros, but Galian offers a special deal for the first 100 buyers with a 15% discount, bringing the price to 7,845 euros.
