Volkswagen surprises everyone!
In stark contrast to the automotive industry, the Volkswagen Group is posting a positively electrified start to the year.
The German giant closes the first nine months of 2025 on a positive note, with 6.6 million vehicles delivered worldwide, a slight increase (+1%) despite an unstable global market. But it’s mainly the electric dynamic that impresses: 717,500 fully electric models (BEV) were delivered by the end of September, a record for the group.

In Europe, BEV deliveries surged by 78%, giving Volkswagen a market share of about 27%, the highest on the continent. The Volkswagen ID.4, ID.5, and ID.3 dominate sales, while the new Audi Q6 e-tron, Skoda Elroq, and ID.7 Tourer strengthen the range.
Volkswagen plays the numbers
The group’s product offensive, with 60 new models launched in two years, also results in a 17% increase in orders in Western Europe, including +64% for electric vehicles. Rechargeable hybrids (PHEV) are also experiencing a strong rebound (+55%), evidence that the energy transition remains gradual.
While China (-4%) and North America (-8%) still impact the figures, growth in Europe (+8% in the third quarter) and South America (+15%) more than compensates.

According to Marco Schubert, a member of the Executive Committee responsible for sales, this momentum validates the group’s electric strategy but calls for vigilance: “To succeed in this competitive environment, we must continue our product offensive and performance efforts.”
