Jaguar Type E

It is not us who claim this, but Enzo Ferrari himself who described the legendary Jaguar Type E as such.

The Jaguar Type E was unveiled to the public on March 16, 1961, at the Geneva Motor Show. Designed by Malcolm Sayer, it is a civil evolution of the Type D, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times in 1955, 1956, and 1957. Fifty years after the last Jaguar Type E left the assembly line, two commemorative models of Series I were created exclusively for a loyal and demanding client from Southeast Asia to celebrate the iconic sports car.

These two rolling works of art are the ultimate expression of the Type E, with unique specifications and handcrafted construction, making each one a truly individual collector’s piece. Every detail, inside and out, has been given special attention by the experts at Jaguar Classic. Their design took no less than 2,000 hours.

Both are drophead coupes, the two-seater convertible version that made the model famous. One is finished in Signet Green, while the other is in Opal Black, two updates of the original colors offered on this model in 1974. The interior features hand-stitched Bridge of Weir beige leather seats, with matching black and beige leather trims. This was a specific request from the client, as this finish has never been offered before by Jaguar Classic.

Under the sculptural front hood, each car houses the renowned 3.8-liter engine, now equipped with electronic injection and an enhanced five-speed manual gearbox from Jaguar Classic. This combination offers a perfect blend of heritage and… ease of daily use. You have to keep up with the times!
