Grand debut for the Lamborghini Temerario hybrid

Lamborghini officially unveiled its new weapon in Korea, the Temerario. An hybrid with Lamborghini’s signature style, therefore exceptional.

The Lamborghini Temerario marks a turning point in the history of the Italian brand. Featuring a pure and masculine design, it combines cutting-edge technical characteristics with an unprecedented hybrid layout, targeting a wider audience while remaining loyal to its core clientele, who are very attached to internal combustion engines.

The Temerario is powered by a unique hybrid engine, designed and developed in Sant’Agata Bolognese. This engine combines a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors, generating a total power of 920 horsepower. This model is also the first production supercar to reach 10,000 rpm, an exceptional performance that allows it to hit 343 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

An beastly hybrid engine

The heart of the Temerario is an innovative engine combining a twin-turbo internal combustion engine (ICE) with three electric motors. This 4.0-liter V8 engine delivers a specific power of 200 hp per liter and is coupled with an oil-cooled electric motor, fully integrated into the V8 block. Powered by two electric motors on the front axle, it offers instant response and a smooth, linear acceleration up to 10,000 rpm.

The twin-turbo V8 reaches a power output of 800 hp between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm and generates 730 Nm of torque between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm. The electric motor located between the V8 engine and the gearbox fills in torque gaps, providing effortless and seamless acceleration.

The efficiency of the twin-turbo V8 is optimized by two compact turbochargers located in the “V” of the engine, improving thermal management. This engine uses a flat crankshaft, inspired by racing, and titanium connecting rods to reduce rotating mass while maintaining maximum robustness. Engineers have also introduced new thermal management and direct injection at 350 bars, enabling rapid and clean combustion.

Thus, the Temerario represents a perfect fusion of turbo engine power and electric motor support. The Italian promise of an unprecedented driving experience, for those who can afford it, of course, with a starting price announced at 300,000 euros.
