Elon Musk signs on for five more years!

Amid rumors of departure or dismissal, Elon Musk pounds the table and promises to remain at the helm of Tesla for the next five years.

Elon Musk has made a decision before others do it for him: he will stay in charge of Tesla for at least the next five years. Interviewed at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, the flamboyant billionaire wanted to reassure investors, some of whom are starting to doubt his commitment to the company.

“Yes, without a doubt for the next five years”, he declared, standing firm. Five years, okay… but what after? One must say that for a while, Elon seems to have his mind elsewhere: in addition to Tesla and SpaceX, he is also advising Donald Trump in a new Department of Government Efficiency, the infamous DOGE. A role that exposes him and has started to cause concern among shareholders.

Because in the meantime, Tesla’s stock has experienced some turbulence, with a drop of more than 12% since the beginning of the year. Not enough to throw Elon off track, who insists: he is not clinging to his position for the money, but to keep a “reasonable control” over the company’s future. Translation: to avoid being ejected by overly restless investors.

“This is not a money issue,” he clarifies. “I just want to have enough weight to not get thrown out.” The message is crystal clear and serves to put an end to many rumors. But does Elon Musk really have his destiny in his hands? Can Tesla fire Elon Musk?

Because his political commitment has had dramatic consequences on Tesla’s image. Several Tesla showrooms have become targets of protests, sometimes violent. “We can disagree politically, there’s no need for hanging effigies or death threats,” he emphasized, clearly annoyed. He also announced that he wants to scale back campaign financing.

But true to himself, Elon does not limit himself to just one company. He keeps an eye on X (formerly Twitter), Neuralink, SpaceX… and is even considering taking Starlink, his satellite internet service, public.

In short, Musk has no intention of slowing down, even if he claims he will stay at Tesla for five years. And after? A mystery. With Elon, anything is possible… except boredom.
