Here’s some good news if you have a Tesla and an iPhone!

Tesla released an update to the iOS mobile app this week to facilitate certain commands from an iPhone.

People began to think that Tesla was favoring Apple as its smartphone users running on Android were getting a lot of attention. Yesterday, Tesla launched an update to the mobile app on iOS 18, allowing owners to add certain commands to the control center on their iPhones. It is now possible to access commands such as locking, climate control, charging port access, honking, and even the essential whoopee cushion with a simple swipe up. The menu can also access commands to flash the headlights and open and close the Frunk.

The app also features an energy measurement function that allows users to monitor and manage the flows on Powerwall more easily.

Tesla regularly publishes updates to the mobile app, often adding new features or simple enhancements to existing functionalities. For recent examples, Tesla added home energy demos to the iOS app earlier this year. In August, the company also prepared the release of Autopark in a mobile update accompanied by a simple button that was not there before.

While these vehicle control apps have become commonplace, it must be credited to Tesla for pioneering them as the American brand offered them right from the launch of the Model S and X. The question remains when it will be possible to drive a Model Y directly from a smartphone like James Bond in “Tomorrow Never Dies”.
