XPENG Accelerates in France to Catch Up with Tesla and BYD

XPENG 2026

The Chinese manufacturer XPENG is intensifying its commercial strategy in France and Europe in 2026.

XPENG aims to take a new step in 2026 in the French market with an expanded range, a strengthened sales network, and significant growth ambitions. A serious acceleration after its first full year in the French market, seen by the brand as “modest but encouraging.” Present for eighteen months in the French market, XPENG recorded 3,313 registrations in 2025 and now aims to reach 7,200 orders in France this year by expanding its range to six available models.

This growth plan is accompanied by a strengthening of the distribution network: the brand plans to increase its national network to about 100 points of sale by the end of 2026, compared to about forty dealerships currently. The network is expanding in major cities, with some points already active in Île-de-France, notably in Paris and Saint-Gratien.

On the product front, XPENG is betting on its electric SUVs G6 and G9, equipped with ultra-fast charging technologies (800 V) and a strong range, offered from around €46,990 in France. The G6 even ranked as the best BEV among Chinese vehicles sold in France by the end of 2025, with 499 units, a strong symbol given the European competition.

Less tax, or even a bonus?

XPENG also hopes to benefit from partial assembly in Austria (Graz) to reduce import costs in Europe, although models assembled with Chinese parts are not yet eligible for French purchase subsidies.

In Europe, the brand is expanding its presence to several countries – including Germany, Denmark, and Poland – through well-established distribution partnerships.

This surge comes in a context of overall growth for XPENG: the Chinese brand delivered over 430,000 vehicles worldwide in 2025, showing strong growth outside China and seeking to capture an increasingly larger share of international markets.

If these ambitions are real, European competition, access to local subsidies, and consumer perception remain major challenges for XPENG in 2026.
