Under 15,000 euros, the Leapmotor A10 could shake Europe.
With the presentation of the A10 in Guangzhou, Leapmotor takes a decisive step towards its global expansion.
This new compact electric SUV inaugurates Leapmotor’s global A platform and positions itself as a model capable of redefining standards in the segment. Its global rollout has already been announced, as the manufacturer reveals it will be called B03X outside of China. Behind this technological upgrade, the A10 could also become a serious challenge for the European industry… including Stellantis, despite being an industrial partner of Leapmotor.

With dimensions very close to European compacts – just over 4.2 m long, 1.8 m wide, and a wheelbase exceeding 2.6 m – the A10 focuses on maximizing interior space thanks to its dedicated architecture. This technical choice allows it to offer more interior space than many established models on the European market, without sacrificing urban maneuverability. The style, however, is minimalistic, to say the least!

Technically, the A10 is based on the new 3.5 LEAP architecture, designed to offer an advanced electronic foundation: AI-assisted cockpit, complete OTA updates, end-to-end driving assistance, and optimized energy management. The next-generation LFP battery promises up to 500 km of CLTC range, a figure that will be adjusted to around 350 km according to European WLTP standards but remains very competitive for a vehicle in this segment.
A Chinese Duty Free with a European passport?
One of the most strategic aspects concerns pricing positioning. In China, the A10 is priced between 80,000 and 100,000 yuan (about €11,000 to €13,000). For Europe, several analyses suggest that Leapmotor could offer the B03X around €25,000… unless Stellantis takes over production of the model on European soil in one of its factories! In this case, with fewer taxes and a good bonus, we might expect a particularly aggressive price, close to €15,000, which aligns with Leapmotor’s strategy and is significantly lower than many European competitors.

This positioning could place the A10 in direct competition with the upcoming electric Peugeot 208 and its relatives from Citroën, Opel, Lancia & Co. This generation is announced by the Polygon concept, a future strategic pillar of Stellantis for the coming years. With a high technological level, competitive range, and potentially lower entry price, the A10 could attract both first-time electric car buyers and traditional buyers of thermal compacts.

In a context where European manufacturers struggle to offer affordable electric vehicles, the arrival of this mass-produced model could profoundly reshuffle the cards of a market already under pressure. And paradoxically, the brand that could suffer the most from this Chinese offensive is none other than Stellantis, an industrial partner of Leapmotor and paradoxically a direct competitor.
