Togg T10F, the Turkish electric gem?

The Turkish national manufacturer, Togg, struggles to sell its T10X SUV but is already presenting its 100% electric T10F sedan.

Founded in 2018, Togg is a brand proudly waving the Turkish flag, with its European headquarters located in Stuttgart, Germany, and its global office in Gebze, Turkey. We last saw them in late October 2022 during an extravagant presentation that gathered thousands of people. A speech by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan concluded the nearly 2-hour event. An ambitious project with a 15-year vision to generate $50 billion in revenue, create 5,000 jobs, and 20,000 indirect jobs.

Two years later, the 100% electric T10X SUV was unveiled without much fanfare and, according to official figures, has sold 19,583 units. However, it still hasn’t left the Turkish borders despite repeated promises from the manufacturer. For that, it would need to meet new driver assistance standards and go through EuroNCAP testing. So, we won’t be seeing it anytime soon while the T10F sedan is already on the horizon. Its road tests have begun, and its arrival on the roads is expected in the first quarter of 2025. That’s a bit tight, but why not.

Togg goes retro

What can be said about this car other than it does not exude modernity… To better understand this very retro line, it’s essential to keep in mind that the car was initially presented by Togg in 2019! Let’s admit that this might be a deliberate choice embodying Togg’s DNA because, after all, classicism has its followers. The manufacturer states that its lines are guided by a modernity highlighted by a spacious design of the rear section. One can only notice a very narrow trunk opening and a very high loading threshold, so much for modernity…

The T10F will be launched in three different versions: Rear-wheel drive, Long Range Rear-wheel drive, and All-wheel drive with dual motors. The standard-range model will feature a 52.4 kWh battery compared to an 88.5 kWh battery for the long-range version. With the latter, the T10F is expected to approach a range of 600 km, but with tests just beginning, let’s be cautious. One last important detail, no price has been mentioned…
