The Volkswagen ID.Buzz continues to be cheaper in leasing

Proposed until the end of March 2024 at 425 euros per month, the electric combi ID.Buzz now drops to 380 euros per month on lease. Interesting?

It is becoming difficult to interpret the successive price drops for leasing the ID.Buzz. Because at the same time, its catalog price remains unchanged.

Factually, one might be tempted to say “good for us”, as purchasing an electric vehicle should be avoided if possible. We repeat, but technology is evolving so fast that tying yourself to a car you won’t be able to part with later is a bad idea.

Thus, the increasingly aggressive leasing offers seem much more relevant to us. And that is the case with this nice Volkswagen ID.Buzz, although the risk of getting tired of it can be significant given how it stands out in the automotive landscape and our habits.

A Tiny Rent?

As mentioned earlier: the price keeps dropping. In the span of a month, the ID.Buzz will see its rent decrease by 45 euros, or -11%. Better yet: Volkswagen is not requiring any down payment with a higher rent! The Long-Term Lease extends over 37 months at 380 euros for a final mileage of 40,000 kilometers.

Again, one might have thought that the mileage would be limited to 30,000 kilometers, approximately 10,000 km per year. Thus, for 13,000 kilometers annually and a bit extra, it will cost you a total of 14,060 euros.

At this rate, you would have paid the catalog price of 59,450 euros in… 13 years! This demonstrates that it makes no sense to buy your ID.Buzz, as no bank would allow you to spread out repayments over such a long period.

The rental price is for a PRO version with a 77 kWh battery and options for a real catalog price of 60,970 euros. It notably includes the maintenance package at 18.40 euros/month. However, be aware: only a selection of vehicles already in stock are covered by the offer. Which is really worth it!
