Here’s the Poor Man’s Tesla Cybertruck
This page is translated from the original post "Voici le Tesla Cybertruck du pauvre" in French.

Can’t afford a Tesla Cybertruck? Neither can we, so here’s an alternative, the Robotruck!
We’re not talking about a homemade Tesla copy built in a garage with metal tubes and wooden planks, but rather a concept car showcased at the very prestigious Los Angeles Auto Show. Visitors were probably expecting to see the Tesla Cybertruck, but instead, in a small booth along a corridor, they might have wondered what happened to the highly anticipated Pick-Up.
Let’s be honest, we had never heard of Aitekx before. A quick visit to their website, unfortunately full of typos, allowed us to gauge the incredible ambitions of this young company and discover their flagship product, the Robotruck. Yes, it naturally evokes, quite a lot actually, Tesla’s latest creation. So, optimism or impracticality?

For its Robotruck, a sort of Cybertruck less the quarter, the “manufacturer” leans resolutely towards optimism with an EPA range of 550 miles (885 km), 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 125 mph, or 200 km/h. These figures make us lean towards impracticality, as it would simply be, in all respects, better than a Cybertruck. The lack of communication regarding the battery, the weight of the vehicle, or its motorization reinforces this impression. Its dimensions are slightly smaller than those of the Cybertruck.
Aitekx claims that the prototype shown is drivable and has already undergone several test sessions. Still, we await a video to confirm this. The adjustments and finishes are quite rough, but Tesla’s first prototypes weren’t much better either.
This exercise in style will probably have no follow-up, but who knows. If the vehicle is released as planned in 2025 at the announced price of $40,000, you can say you were in the know.
