La Bagnole

Avoiding the unnecessary to rediscover simple pleasures and reduce environmental impact: this is the philosophy that guided the design of La Bagnole.

This quirky electric vehicle was developed by Weshift, a consortium founded by Groupe Savoy, M2O Group, Alpes Usinage, and Pracartis. These four manufacturers are based in France, specifically in Haute-Savoie, in the Arve valley. They plan to produce La Bagnole locally, using as many French components as possible. And when this isn’t feasible, they will source from Europe, not from the other side of the world.

Accessible Without a License

Approved for the category of license-free cars, La Bagnole is limited to 45 km/h. A version capable of reaching 65 km/h is also planned. It will belong to the family of heavy quadricycles, accessible only with a license.

The approach of keeping only the essentials allowed to limit the weight to 283 kilograms. The average consumption is estimated at around 6 kWh / 100 km. Therefore, the small 3.6 kWh battery allows for about 50 km between two charges. Optionally, the range can be extended to 145 km.

The chassis of La Bagnole is made of aluminum.

Two Motors in the Rear Wheels

La Bagnole is powered by two small electric motors. Integrated into the rear wheels, they provide a combined power of 6 kW, which can temporarily increase to 16 kW. Braking is managed by discs on both the front and rear.

The interior designed for two people is open to the outside, but optional doors and a windshield can be added. The cargo volume at the back reaches 650 liters.

Already available for pre-order, La Bagnole costs €10,900 (before a €900 bonus). The first units will start hitting the roads at the beginning of 2023.
