Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Pricing: The Scenic Clone Plays the Price Card

At the 2025 Lyon Motor Show, Mitsubishi has officially announced the prices for its new electric Eclipse Cross.
There is no doubt about the design of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, a model that is nothing less than a clone of the Renault Scénic E-Tech. This strategy is embraced by the Japanese manufacturer, which for the fourth time is drawing from Renault’s catalog to quickly expand its range of electrified vehicles.
Assembled in the same Douai factory, the Eclipse Cross adopts the main powertrain of the Scénic: a 220 hp electric block paired with an 87 kWh battery. The combination promises more than 600 km of WLTP range (625 km for the Scénic). Mitsubishi announces a starting price of €44,990, which is €2,000 less than its French cousin in the same configuration. This offer is also available as a long-term rental for €399/month with no down payment.
Mitsubishi Takes Care of Its Pricing
The pricing advantage could attract buyers hesitating between the two models, especially since the Eclipse Cross, like the Scénic, benefits from public purchase assistance programs: an eco-bonus of €3,100 or €4,200 depending on the case, and an additional premium of €1,000.
However, this competitive price comes with some compromises. Where Renault provides a standard 12-inch central screen, Mitsubishi settles for a 9-inch display, which is compatible with Android Automotive and features Google navigation. To regain an equivalent level of equipment, one must upgrade to the “Intense” package, raising the price to €46,990, the same as the Scénic.

Apart from these differences, the style changes only slightly: logos, grille, and body details have been slightly revised, but the DNA of the Scénic remains omnipresent. For the launch, Mitsubishi is offering an exclusive “Spirit Edition” trim, featuring specific design elements.

With its pricing strategy, the Eclipse Cross hopes to capture a share of the French electric vehicle market. It remains to be seen whether buyers will prefer the pioneering Renault or its Japanese counterpart, which is slightly cheaper but also a bit less generous in terms of standard equipment.
