Price Drops for Renault Megane E-Tech

Forced to adjust its prices downward due to the very aggressive pricing of the new Scenic, the Megane E-Tech drops its price by nearly 4,500 euros.

This creates a noticeable ripple effect. Considered a large Megane, the new Renault Scenic should therefore be priced lower. Previously seen as somewhat expensive, the electric Megane E-Tech has decided to slash its prices and, again, to compete fiercely with the Chinese and American brands.

Now, the Megane starts at 29,000 euros in the Equilibre trim after a 5,000 euro ecological bonus is deducted. The range then rises to 35,000 euros for the Techno trim, and up to 37,000 euros for Iconic.

At 29,000 euros, the Megane is therefore in a slugfest with the MG4 (51 kWh), which now has a list price of 29,990 euros since it is no longer eligible for the ecological bonus. For this price, the French car offers 130 horsepower and a 40 kWh battery for a pleasant daily range of 300 km. It will be more challenging on long trips with a recharge limited to 85 kW, compared to 130 kW for the Super Charge versions (starting at 33,000 euros with 220 hp). Looking at the bigger picture, the Megane with high autonomy is now 10,000 euros cheaper than a Tesla Model 3.

With this repositioning, the Megane will be perfectly situated between the incoming Renault 5 and the Scenic. Renault is fully committed to electric vehicles. The year 2024 looks promising for the French manufacturer… which produces in France. A significant argument these days.
