At just 379 euros per month with no down payment, the MG MGS5 nearly achieves perfection

The MGS5 EV, the new 100% electric SUV from the Sino-British manufacturer, makes a remarkable entry into the French market.

Following the MG5 estate sedan, the new MGS5 EV, now a 100% electric SUV, is available for order in France. This model marks a major evolution in the MG range, combining cutting-edge technology, contemporary design, and high-level safety.

Built on the modular MSP platform, the MGS5 EV incorporates several technical features from the MG4 EV while introducing new equipment to enhance the user experience. It is notably equipped with the connected iSMART system, which allows remote control of many vehicle functions through a mobile application. Compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, this system also integrates apps like Spotify and TikTok. The cabin features a 12.8-inch HD central touchscreen, complemented by a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and ergonomically designed physical controls.

MG has found its magic formula

The spacious interior offers excellent habitability, with a headroom of 1026 mm in the front and 967 mm in the back. The trunk offers a volume of 453 liters, expandable to 1441 liters once the rear seats are folded down (60:40 configuration). The Luxury finish stands out with a modular trunk floor, an electric tailgate, and two-tone synthetic leather seats, emphasizing comfort and perceived quality.

In terms of performance, the MGS5 EV is equipped with an electric motor developing 231 hp (170 kW) and 350 Nm of torque. It reaches 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Five driving modes are offered: Normal, Sport, Comfort, Snow, and Customized. The energy recovery system during braking and low rolling resistance components enhance overall efficiency.

Two battery options are available: 49 kWh and 64 kWh, offering ranges of up to 380 km and 465 km respectively in the WLTP cycle. Fast charging allows for a charge from 10 to 80% in 24 to 28 minutes.

In terms of safety, the MGS5 EV scores 5 stars in the Euro NCAP tests, confirming the rigor of its design and the effectiveness of its driving aids.

Starting at €32,490 in the Comfort 49 kWh version, the MGS5 EV is also available for Long-Term Rental. For example, the Comfort 64 kWh version, featuring the largest range, is offered for 49 months and 40,000 km, with 49 monthly payments of €379, with no initial deposit. An attractive solution for driving electric for 4 years, with no surprises at the end of the lease: the MG magic still works.
