Utility: Nissan Townstar Electric at -40%!

The world of vans is also shifting to electric with significant advantages and huge purchase discounts!

Artisans and professionals who often travel have their habits, well-rooted in a reality of reliability and cost control. But times are changing, access to certain city centers is now restricted for diesels or limited to electric vehicles. Urban tolls and parking are sometimes even free, and above all, the price of diesel continuously rises. Finally, we cannot overlook the question of tax incentives before the ecological bonus and partial or total exemption from the company vehicle tax (TVS).

These are all reasons to consider switching to electric in the world of vans, especially since driving is also more relaxing. However, human nature presents a certain resistance to change. Hence the difficulty for manufacturers in selling off their stock. This opens the door to great opportunities.

Electric cheaper than gasoline!

The example of this Nissan Townstar is striking. Technically, it is nothing more than a Renault Kangoo Van with a different logo on the hood and steering wheel. Its production is French as well.

With discounts and the ecological bonus, its price drops from €39,504 to €23,702 (excluding taxes)! That’s a reduction of 40%, or a price even €3000 lower than that of the entry-level gasoline version. It’s the opposite of what you’d expect!

Under the hood, there’s a 45 kWh battery sufficient for daily needs and a fast charging socket of 80 kW. This allows for 80% charges in under 30 minutes. The motor develops 122 electric horsepower and an instant torque of 245 Nm, making heavy loads no problem.

Ultimately, one wonders what is still holding back the electric shift in the world of vans. But that’s the direction of history, and it’s only a matter of time. Large companies like Amazon have even made it part of their brand image.
