BYD Brésil

The world’s leading electric car manufacturer, BYD, continues its external growth by acquiring an old Ford factory.

BYD has decided to convert a former Ford factory into a modern electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Brazil. The former conventional car manufacturing plant will be BYD’s first industrial automotive site outside Asia, waiting for its upcoming arrival in Europe on Hungarian soil.

Brazilian President Lula personally announced the news on X (formerly Twitter). The Chinese manufacturer confirmed an investment of 608 million euros in this EV production unit in Camaçari, Bahia State. Charity begins at home, and the President made sure to immediately benefit from a presidential fleet of BYD vehicles!
