Ten Hyundai IONIQ 6 and Kia EV6 Art Cars travel through Paris this week to showcase the charms and strengths of Busan.

Pressure is mounting just days before the election of the host city for the 2030 Universal Exhibition in which Busan, South Korea, is a candidate. A fleet of electric Art Cars is promoting this bid in the most eye-catching way in the heart of Paris, from November 23 to 28. The host city election will take place in Paris on November 28 during the 173rd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions. Nothing is decided yet for Busan, which is competing in this final vote against Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Rome, Italy.

The manufacturers provided the Korean delegation with ten Hyundai IONIQ 6 and Kia EV6 models, all 100% electric, decorated with colorful artistic graffiti featuring iconic symbols of Busan, such as seagulls and the Gwangan Bridge, as well as the slogan “Busan is ready”. This choice of the IONIQ 6 and EV6 highlights Busan’s commitment to hosting a carbon-neutral Universal Exhibition themed “Transforming our world, sailing towards a better future.”

This fleet of Art Cars will tour several landmarks in Paris, such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, and will navigate through neighborhoods near the BIE headquarters and various embassies, aiming to promote Busan’s bid to key officials of BIE member countries and visitors from around the world.

On November 28, in particular, the day of the 173rd BIE General Assembly, the Group will circulate an Art Car near the Palais des Congrès in Issy-Les-Moulineaux (92), which will host this event. Hyundai Motor Group will make every effort to support Busan’s candidacy among BIE members until the election date.
