Genesis Refreshes Its GV60 Electric and Keeps the Suspense Going
This page is translated from the original post "Genesis relooke son GV60 électrique et fait durer le suspense" in French.

The luxury brand of the Hyundai group has unveiled a slight refresh of its electric SUV GV60 and assures that the technology will also evolve.
It is always enjoyable to play cat and mouse with manufacturers. To plan the update of its already very desirable electric GV60, Genesis is taking it step by step: first the design… then the technology in a few weeks.
However, if you follow automotive news even a little, you know that the big suspense doesn’t really exist, especially within a giant group like Hyundai and KIA, where technical and technological synergies are everywhere.
Let’s play along by first discussing the aesthetic aspect, as intended by Genesis. We will talk about the technical side later in this article. Launched in October 2021, the GV60 is the first vehicle designed and marketed by Genesis. Its electric platform module is the E-GMP, the same as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and KIA EV6 (you follow our lead…)

At the front, the GV60 features a redesigned bumper with a three-dimensional shape. The headlights now incorporate Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, which enhances the lighting signature of Genesis. Notably, two very understated and recognizable superimposed lines.
The wheels, more sporty, are 21 inches in diameter and have 5 spokes. They are housed within body-colored wheel arches. Inside, the modernization of the instruments is evident, including a 27-inch infotainment screen! Its integration is also more polished on the dashboard. Finally, a new three-spoke steering wheel adds a sporty touch.

What about the technology?
Let’s spoil the surprise a little. Again, no need to be a prophet. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and KIA EV6 have just undergone significant updates, notably with a new battery capacity increased from 77.4 to 84 kWh. This guarantees about 30 km more range in WLTP cycle. But what really marks a big leap forward is the faster charging speed, enabling shorter “refuels” during long trips.
With over 500 km of range, the GV60 will attract many. In terms of power, there are two options: front-wheel drive with 230 horsepower or all-wheel drive with 325 horsepower.
As for prices, there is little interest for France where Genesis is not currently imported. That may change in the future, as the South Korean manufacturer announced its entry into the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2026. It’s already tomorrow.
