Izera: Polish Electric Cars Built on a Chinese Platform
This page is translated from the original post "Izera : des voitures électriques polonaises avec une plateforme chinoise" in French.

With the help of Geely, the Izera company will attempt to complete its Polish electric car project… which, as a result, will not be entirely Polish!
Producing the first Polish electric car, and incidentally reviving the country’s automotive industry after the disappearance of FSO in 2011: this is the ambition of Izera, a brand created by ElectroMobility Poland. But even with the best of intentions, and although it is supported by the Polish government, this new player cannot achieve its goals relying solely on domestic resources. Izera has therefore sought a technical partner and ultimately found its partner in China, with the Geely group.
The Chinese manufacturer, which owns Volvo, Polestar, and Lotus, has extensive experience in electric vehicles. It will supply Izera with its Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, launched in September 2020 and used for example on the Smart #1.
The SEA architecture, specifically designed for electric cars, has never before interested a brand outside of Geely. Izera will use it for its compact electric SUV, as well as for other models planned for the future. The already mentioned 5-door compact sedan and station wagon should also use this platform.

An initial Izera expected in 2023
This partnership gives a new boost to the Izera project, which seems to have experienced some delays. The electric SUV was scheduled to debut in 2023 but will actually be launched only in 2024. The timeline for the other models remains quite uncertain.
Izera’s electric vehicles will be assembled in Poland, at a new plant located in Jaworzno, Silesia. The site will employ around 3,000 people.
