Aston Martin Reinvents the Vanquish Icon

Nothing like a limited series of 1,000 units to celebrate a legacy. Here is the new Aston Martin Vanquish.

If you follow Formula 1, you surely didn’t miss the intriguing message on the Halo of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin AMR24s. The British manufacturer was preparing us to be vanquished on September 2nd. Well, it turns out that this wasn’t just hot air, because while we may never really know what it feels like to be vanquished, we do know what it feels like to get a good slap discovering a car!

111 years of history deserved a masterpiece like this new Vanquish. A design marvel powered by a new 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 delivering 835 hp and a staggering 1000 Nm of torque. With a top speed of 345 km/h, this is the fastest Aston Martin ever produced in series. Of course, in the Aston Martin garage, there are exceptional cars like the recent Valkyrie, Valhalla, or Valour, but these vehicles are not classified as “special” by the manufacturer for nothing, as they are road-registered prototypes. The Vanquish, on the other hand, aims to be the most authentic of Aston Martins. A car usable every day while setting new standards in terms of performance, style, and luxury.

An Aston Martin of today and tomorrow

But one must also be able to harness such horsepower to the ground. Like its famous stablemates, the DB12 and Vantage, the Vanquish is built around a bonded aluminum chassis with a double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. Chassis reinforcements allow for a claimed 75% increase in lateral stiffness compared to Aston Martin’s previous flagship, the DBS 770 Ultimate.

Inside, the center console has been lowered to provide a greater sense of space and optimize visibility from the driver’s seat. Two 10.25-inch screens gather the essential information needed for the driver and a cutting-edge connected infotainment system called “Aston Martin Connected Car.” It allows Vanquish owners to communicate, interact, and engage with their car and will continue to evolve as products and services become available. Rest assured, air conditioning, leather, precious metals, and the auto haven’t been forgotten. A complete set of luggage is even provided. A perfect toy for Her Majesty’s favorite secret agent, isn’t it?
