Amazon Sells Hyundais!

Amazon launched its online vehicle sales service at the beginning of the month, starting with Hyundai vehicles.

Since the beginning of the year, car dealerships have been able to sell vehicles on Amazon’s online store in the United States. Hyundai is the first brand to offer its models to customers and is now offering them in Europe. This new digital shopping experience allows customers to more easily purchase their vehicle online and either pick it up from their local dealership or request home delivery at a date and time of their choosing. Customers can search on Amazon for available vehicles in their area based on a range of preferences (e.g., model, trim, color, and features), select their favorite vehicle, and proceed to payment online according to their chosen payment methods and financing options—all while enjoying the Amazon experience they already know and trust. This new shopping experience provides distributors with another way to showcase their offerings while providing true convenience to their customers.  

Hyundai and Amazon, a partnership for the future

The latest development in this partnership, starting in 2025, is that customers who purchase Hyundai’s next-generation models will be able to directly enjoy the hands-free experience that Alexa offers at home right inside their vehicle. Thus, Hyundai drivers will be able to ask Alexa for music, podcasts, or audiobooks, as well as to set reminders, update to-do lists, or check their calendars. Customers will also be able to control their smart home from their vehicle, and for example, request an increase in heating temperature on the way home, double-check the door locks, and even manage smart lighting and Alexa routines. Additionally, drivers will be able to ask Alexa for updates on traffic or weather and voice-command the vehicle’s multimedia or navigation system—some functions of Alexa will remain accessible even with intermittent or unavailable internet connectivity.
