Skoda Kodiaq Plug-in Hybrid: 272 hp, but a price tag rising to €65,440
The family SUV Skoda strengthens its plug-in hybrid offering with a 272 hp version, associated in France with the high-end Laurin & Klement trim.
For its tenth anniversary, the Skoda Kodiaq gains more power and upgrades its range. Already available as a plug-in hybrid with 204 hp, the SUV now welcomes a 272 hp variant. This evolution brings its price to €65,440 in Laurin & Klement trim, compared to €62,860 for the 204 hp version with the same equipment. The additional 68 horsepower thus represents an increase of €2,580.

Under the hood, the 1.5 TSI four-cylinder petrol engine now develops 177 hp and works with an electric motor of 116 hp. The combined power reaches 272 hp thanks to improvements in the thermal unit and new electronic management of the powertrain. The entire system retains a 25.7 kWh gross battery, of which 19.7 kWh is usable, accepting up to 40 kW in fast charging at direct current.
The benefit is the ability to recover energy during a break, then continue part of the journey in electric mode. However, to make this engine viable in daily use, regular charging will remain essential.
Comfort also increases the price
The Laurin & Klement trim enhances this powertrain with a more refined presentation: seats with massage function, specific wheels, silver roof rails, and body elements matching the paint. The Kodiaq thus focuses on in-car comfort as much as its power reserve.
This positioning does call for a distinction: with comparable equipment, the extra cost of the 272 hp version remains contained, but the entry price imposes a high budget. Additionally, this plug-in hybrid version is limited to five seats, a crucial point for large families.
The 204 hp Kodiaq thus retains strong arguments. For those prioritizing daily commutes in electric mode, the additional horsepower may not necessarily be the primary expense.
