Chinese cars: Volvo opens the doors of Europe to Lynk & Co

Volvo Lynk&Co

By entrusting its European distribution to Volvo starting January 2027, Lynk & Co could gain a decisive advantage with motorists: trust in a known network.

A car can be appealing on screen and leave buyers hesitant at the moment of signing. Where to test it? Who will handle its maintenance? Where to turn in case of an issue? For a brand still relatively unfamiliar, these questions can weigh as heavily as the price or range.

Lynk & Co is about to have a new answer. According to an announcement by Geely reported by Reuters on September 10, Volvo will become its exclusive distributor in Europe starting January 2027. This is a concrete step towards the collaboration between two brands belonging to the same industrial galaxy.

Don’t be afraid!

The project was announced as early as March, with a principle agreement aiming to rely on Volvo dealerships and its commercial and after-sales organization. The Lynk & Co models 01, 02, and 08 were then included in the planned scope, subject to changes.

For buyers, the potential interest thus goes beyond just the multiplication of sales points. Being able to discover a brand in a familiar environment, meet a contact person, and identify a workshop could make the purchasing process less intimidating. It is in this regard that the support from Volvo seems particularly relevant.

For Volvo, this cooperation could also bring more activity to its partners, both in sales and maintenance. This perspective was already one of the objectives of the project presented in the spring.

It remains to be seen the precise deployment in France: participating establishments, local timeline, and offered services. The European announcement does not mean that every Volvo dealership will automatically welcome Lynk & Co.

But the stakes are clear: to settle permanently, a brand also needs to reassure customers about their daily life with the car. And this trust is built right down to the workshop.
