Citroën showcases its wildest concept cars at Rétromobile
For its 100 years of creativity, Citroën is showcasing its historical concepts and ELO, its bold vision of mobility, at Rétromobile.
On the occasion of the 50th edition of the Rétromobile Show from January 28 to February 1, 2026, Citroën will make a strong impression with a 512 m² stand where past and future will meet through its most iconic concept cars. For the first time in France, the public will discover ELO, an electric and modular concept car that reinvents urban mobility while drawing inspiration from Citroën’s creative DNA.

Compact yet spacious, ELO can accommodate up to six people and adapts to all uses, from daily commutes to remote work or leisure. Its central seat and 180° panoramic windshield offer exceptional visibility and encourage interactions between passengers. Eco-friendly, it uses recycled materials, including those from the OLI concept developed with Decathlon, and continues the approach initiated by C-Cactus in 2007.
A Path Leading to ELO
Around ELO, Citroën will trace a century of innovation with six historical concepts: the 2 CV A (1939), a pioneer of small cars; the C 10 (1956), airy and lightweight; Karin (1980), with its futuristic design and interactive screens; Activa 1 (1988), featuring electronically controlled hydraulic suspensions; Xanae (1994), a monovolume designed for family and conviviality; and C-Cactus (2007), which advocated simplicity and sustainability. Each illustrates how the brand has always anticipated drivers’ needs while exploring new shapes and technologies.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Show, the Citroën stand will also host the unique 1939 Traction Avant 15-6 Cabriolet, which was already displayed during the first edition in 1976, with the support of the La Traction Universelle club. This rare piece symbolizes the history and passion that continue to drive the brand.
