October 2025: Tesla Sales Plummet in Europe

The months go by and Tesla continues to sink deeper into crisis in Europe, with ridiculous sales in October 2025.

The anti-Musk resentment is strong in Europe, evidence that this continent still has a memory regarding its recent history. But also in relation to what is happening in Ukraine with the Russian invasion. And the figures are stubborn and reliable, revealed by the ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association.

Thus, we learn that in October 2025, new car sales in the European Union increased by +5.8% compared to October 2024. This recovery confirms a renewal that appeared in the summer, and today allows us to see sales performance since January 2025 up by +1.4% in the European Union. This increase even rises to +1.9% when including sales made in the United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland. The total, after 10 months of sales, reaches 11.02 million new vehicles for individuals.

The energy mix now sees electric vehicles capturing 16.4% of the European market, up from 13.2% a year before, with a notable increase of +38.6% in battery-powered cars in October 2025.

Tesla in Full European Slump

But there is one brand that contrasts entirely in Europe: Tesla. Its sales are in free fall, contrary to what the delivery times would suggest on social media.

In fact, it has never taken so long to be delivered (now between 3 to 6 months for certain Model Y, compared to a few weeks just a year ago), while the order books are empty.

For proof, in October 2025, Tesla sold only 5,647 cars in the European Union, down from 10,867 in October 2024. This is a drop of -48%! And in all of Europe (UK, Norway, etc.), this figure stands at 6,964 units, a decrease of -48.5% compared to the same month last year.

By comparison, Tesla sells fewer new cars than Porsche (7,653 cars) or Land Rover (7,877), who themselves are also in decline. Taking the logic further, Renault sold more of its R5 than the entire Tesla offering. Ultimately, who is right?

Since the beginning of 2025, between January and October, Tesla has seen its sales fall by -39.2% in the European Union, going from 197,439 to 117,000 cars. At the same time, BYD’s sales are exploding: +195% in October 2025, +239.6% since the beginning of 2025.

One question remains: what if the problem with Tesla wasn’t its iconic figure, but the end of the hype of a brand that is undoubtedly efficient, yet whose customer feedback is often very disappointing in terms of perceived quality?
