With the Monowheel, Decathlon presents the cargo bike of the future
Decathlon (re)imagines the mobility of tomorrow with the Monowheel Cargo, an innovative concept of a modular one-wheel electric vehicle.
From November 5 to 16, 2025, the Magasins Généraux in Pantin will host Surface de Réparation, an unprecedented exhibition led by Decathlon and the École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL. At the heart of this meeting between design and innovation, one object captures all attention: the Monowheel Cargo, a symbol of urban mobility reimagined for a sustainable and intelligent future.
Surface de Réparation is not limited to an object exhibition: it is a collective reflection laboratory around design, innovation, and repair. Curated by Alice Audouin with a scenography by Arter, 145 students and designers present 68 projects imagining new ways to design, repair, and extend the life of objects.
Among them, the Monowheel Cargo stands out as one of the most striking concepts from Decathlon‘s Advanced Innovation division, within the Probable Futures space.

The Monowheel Cargo, a Revolution in Individual Mobility
Designed as a response to the challenges of urban mobility, the Monowheel Cargo pushes the boundaries of design and technology. More compact than a bicycle, fully autonomous, and stabilized by a gyroscope, it symbolizes the perfect fusion between innovation, ecology, and ease of use.

Designed for active city dwellers, it comes with several additional modules that allow transporting both children and bulky objects. Thanks to its intelligent and connected system, the Monowheel can pick up its user, recharge itself, and automatically return to its station after the trip.
In a city where space and time become scarce resources, this visionary vehicle imagines a smooth, silent, and emission-free mobility perfectly integrated into a calm and regenerated urban environment.
Design Serving a Sustainable Future
While the Monowheel draws all eyes, it is not just a futuristic concept: it embodies the philosophy of Decathlon, which has been exploring for several years the convergence between design, science, and foresight.
The Monowheel is not just a means of transport: it is a vision. A future where innovation primarily serves humans, where every journey becomes simple, sustainable, and intelligent.
Surface de Réparation will take place from November 5 to 16, 2025, at the Magasins Généraux – 1 rue de l’Ancien Canal, Pantin (Église de Pantin metro station). Open Wednesday through Sunday, from 2 pm to 7 pm, the exhibition is free and accessible to all.
