Half-bike, half-scooter: here’s the new Fantic Issimo 45

Officially classified as a speed bike, the Fantic Issimo 45 can also be considered a small electric moped.

The Italian manufacturer Fantic is expanding its electric two-wheeler range with the Issimo 45. Derived from the same-named e-bike, this new model can reach speeds of 40 km/h. It therefore falls under the speed bike category—powerful bikes accessible from age 14, requiring a license plate and mandatory helmet use.

Almost identical to the previous e-bike, the Fantic Issimo 45 is equipped with 20-inch wheels. It features disc brakes and a telescopic fork at the front. Its honeycomb aluminum frame at the front ensures a good balance between lightness and originality, adding a distinct touch of uniqueness.

The battery, with a capacity of 600 Wh, is located under the saddle along the frame. It powers a small electric motor capable of delivering up to 120 Nm of torque. Regarding range, Fantic claims 50 kilometers with a single battery configuration, and 100 km with the second battery offered as an option.

A bike that can move without the need to pedal

The rider of the Issimo 45 has three options: to activate only the electric motor, pedal, or combine calf force with electric assist. It also offers several riding modes, including a “Zero” mode that completely turns off the motor. A “Walk Assist” mode allows pushing the bike with minimal effort thanks to slight electrical assistance.

Made in Italy, the Fantic Issimo costs €3,590 in the basic configuration. Too powerful to qualify for the national bonus for purchasing an e-bike, it does, however, qualify for aid schemes implemented by certain municipalities or local authorities.
