New secure bicycle parking facilities in Rouen

On average, 400,000 bicycles are stolen in France each year. In response to this problem, the Rouen metropolis is taking action by installing several secured parking facilities.

Bike thefts are not a new phenomenon, but with the increasing number of cyclists in our cities, the issue has taken on a new scale. In Rouen, the Metropolitan authority has decided to react by creating secure parking spaces. Currently, 170 spaces are already available, distributed across 3 underground parking facilities and four outdoor parks. New spaces will gradually open over the coming months. By the end of the year, the number of available spots will reach 300. The new parking lot near Avenue Jean-Jaurès in Petit-Quevilly alone will add 68 spaces in spring. Designed by the company La Ruche à Vélos, it will be fully automated.

The development of these new infrastructures is managed by Lovélo. This entity of the Rouen Metropolitan area is expanding its services, as it has been offering long-term bicycle rentals since September 2021.

Online Registration Required

Those interested in these secured spaces will be able to subscribe to a monthly or yearly pass. For occasional use, they can also purchase a simple ticket for a day or half a day. Registration procedures can be completed on this website. For commuters traveling between home and work, Lovélo offers subscriptions that provide access to 2 spaces across 2 different parking facilities. To access the parking, you can either use the Lovélo app or a card from Astuce, Atoumod, or Lovélo.

The service is not free, but the rates are very reasonable. Expect to pay €1 for a day and 50 cents for half a day. Subscription options are listed below:
