Unlike Tesla, which cuts prices, BMW’s electric cars the iX1, i4, iX3, and i7 are implementing price increases at the start of 2023.

There is much talk in these columns about the fluctuating prices of electric vehicles. If we observe the shifts orchestrated by Tesla and echoed by some of its rivals, we are even talking about a price war. However, not everyone can or wants to follow suit. This is the case for Volkswagen and Renault, whose CEOs have openly expressed their opposition to this trend. And hold on if you were thinking of buying a BMW electric.

Price increases of €2,000 on the BMW iX1 and i4

The entire BMW range seems to have taken the inflation path. Although all new and tested just a few days ago, the BMW iX1 is already more expensive than expected. The electric SUV is increasing by €2,000 for February 2023. It now starts at €57,550.

The BMW i4 electric sedan is also climbing with a €2,000 increase. Unfortunately, this model previously offered an entry-level eDrive35 version with a 67 kWh battery, lowering the price to under €54,000 in 2022. That now seems far away, as a minimum of €57,550 is required for the i4. The eDrive40 variant, with 340 hp and an 81.5 kWh battery, now costs €63,950, while the powerful M50 with 544 hp is priced at €77,200 today.

Along similar lines, the BMW iX3 also records an increase of €2,100. Previously starting at €72,100, this family electric SUV now moves to €74,200 in its only M Sport trim, with a power of 286 hp.

The BMW i7 indulges itself

Like the iX1 SUV, the BMW i7 did not wait long to increase its prices. Despite deliveries having begun last December, the electric limousine has nearly increased by €12,000! Originally launched at €139,900, its rival to the Mercedes EQS now jumps to €151,800 in the single xDrive60 version.

The only good news if you wanted a BMW iX is that the large electric SUV remains unchanged. Its price stays at €84,200 and above.
