Volkswagen ID.3 2023: Spotlight on the facelift

A video from the Wolfsburg brand revealed new details about the upcoming Volkswagen ID.3, scheduled for release on March 1st.

Launched in 2020 in France, the Volkswagen ID.3 marked the start of the genuine electric transition for the German brand. In 2023, it will receive a new version. Notably, a 12-inch screen with a new infotainment system is included. The compact electric car has experienced technical issues in previous versions. We remember the first units delivered… with incomplete systems, but now remotely updated.

A video shared on the social networks of the Wolfsburg company highlighted the updates, especially regarding the front lights. It appears that Volkswagen is incorporating directional lights into its new ID.3. Additionally, the rear lights seem to be larger than before.

What do we now know about the Volkswagen ID.3?

The new elements of the ID.3 follow other teasers from December 2022 and January 2023. Volkswagen is thus building anticipation ahead of the car’s unveiling on March 1st.

In this new version, the redesigned front lights help the driver see better on the road at night and be more visible in poorly lit turns.

A press release from Volkswagen states that ID models, including the upcoming ID.7, will now feature more recycled materials in their interiors. This was already the case with the ID Buzz. The Seaqual technology, used on the interior seats, will be implemented in other models across the brand.

No information is yet available on battery improvements or motor changes, but these are likely to be announced with the car’s release next Wednesday. Currently, the Volkswagen ID.3 comes in two sizes: 58 and 77 kWh, offering a range between 425 and 545 km, starting at €46,750.
