Electric cars are now very diverse, ranging from small 3-door models, high-performance crossovers, to compact vans. Here are 5 model ideas available for less than €400 per month with long-term rental (LLD) or lease (LOA).

The fluctuation of electric car prices can be a barrier to purchase. At least when comparing, since leasing options, whether in LOA or LLD, are often very advantageous and widely available across all brands. Renault Kangoo E-Tech: the electric minivan for rent from €330/month

Already available in electric version in its second generation, Kangoo returns as E-Tech, no longer ZE since late 2022. The minivan rivaling the Peugeot Rifter and Citroën Berlingo offers spacious interior space. Its 90 kW motor is powered by a 45 kWh battery, providing up to 280 km maximum per charge. The Renault Kangoo E-Tech electric starts at €330/month in LLD on a standard 36-month contract, with 30,000 km/year. This is possible with the base “balance” version, which includes LED headlights, DAB radio, and active emergency braking.

Cupra Born: a premium compact starting at €349/month

Related to the Volkswagen ID.3, it features a more sporty and high-end interior design. The Cupra Born retains the same powertrains, with a 150 kW (204 hp) motor and a 58 kWh battery. The electric compact’s maximum range is theoretically 426 km. Even in the entry-level version, this “Long Battery L” includes the large 12-inch central display, digital dashboard, adaptive cruise control, rear-view camera, and recycled material bucket seats. Starting at just €349/month in 37-month LLD with 30,000 km, the Spanish model requires an upfront payment of €11,650 excluding bonuses.

Kia EV6: the “Car of the Year” crossover available for rent from €357/month

Winner of the 2022 Car of the Year award, the EV6 is a high-end electric crossover that introduced the E-GMP platform alongside the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Even the base Air Active version delivers 170 hp to the rear wheels, and its 58 kWh battery allows up to nearly 400 km of range. Although classified as a family car, the Kia EV6 lease offer starts at from €357/month over 36 months. Be aware that this involves a 45,000 km annual mileage limit and an upfront payment of €13,900, which the ecological bonus can offset.

MINI Electric: a chic 3-door compact in LLD from €360/month

For Mini enthusiasts, the current range is also available in electric, powered by a 135 kW (184 hp) motor. The Mini Electric has identical equipment, including rear-view camera, multimedia system with GPS and Apple Carplay, and heated front seats in the Premium Edition. Its 32 kWh battery provides around 226 km of range, with fast charging up to 50 kW. The Mini Electric is currently available at €360/month. Good news: the brand’s offer is without a down payment, once the €2,000 bonus is deducted, with a 30,000 km limit for the 36-month contract.

Tesla Model Y: the electric star in LOA from €390/month

The American SUV lowered its price in January 2023, both purchase and leasing. The Tesla Model Y now qualifies for this list under €400/month, with its entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive version already offering sufficient performance (7 seconds 0-100 km/h, etc). It features a giant touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, panoramic glazed roof, heated front seats, and a 13-speaker sound system. The Tesla Model Y can be leased via LLD or here in LOA at €390/month with a 48-month contract covering 60,000 km. The chosen down payment is €12,000 excluding bonuses.
