Toulouse: a “Street Code” and 30 km/h zones starting from 2024
This page is translated from the original post "Toulouse : un “Code de la Rue” et des routes à 30km/h dès 2024" in French.

The Occitanie metropolis, with its red bricks and violet scent, will implement a “Street Code” and roads at 30 km/h by the end of the year.
To better ensure the safety of Toulouse residents during their daily travels, the city hall will establish a “Street Code” to remind everyone of urban traffic rules.
Through consultations with neighborhood mayors and citizens, the city will gain an overall view of the main and secondary routes. This will allow the city to give specific instructions and define meeting zones, 30 km/h zones, and pedestrian areas.
Everywhere possible, city roads (excluding major roads) will be limited to 30 km/h. Toulouse thus hopes to reduce incidents caused by speeding by drivers, cyclists, and EDP users.

What does this Street Code include?
Two introductory videos are available below to showcase the information contained in this “Street Code”:
In this format, the videos aim to reach as many people as possible to teach or remind them of the rules of sharing the street. A good initiative that should be expanded to other French cities!
