Tour de France Guide: Presentation of 6 New Teams

The presentation of half of the teams has been done, now we’re tackling the other half, with Romain Bardet, the Auvergnat, present on this Tour de France, just like Benoît Cosnefroy with AG2R Citroën. 

As a reminder, there are five French teams in this Grand Loop, departing on July 1st. An opportunity for us to introduce them to you and give some tips so you can discuss them among yourselves. 

Lidl Trek 

The American team will feature former yellow jersey wearers, with Giulio Ciccone and Tony Gallopin, the veteran of the team. The Italian will be the team leader for the general classification. Mads Pedersen, the 2019 world champion, will also be present on the Grand Boucle.

Team DSM-Firmenich 

After finishing 6th last year, French rider Romain Bardet will aim for a good result again. After two podium finishes, including second place in 2016, just behind the unstoppable Chris Froome who is absent this year.

Team Jayco AlUla 

The Australian team comes with big names for this Grande Boucle, including Dylan Groenewegen and Simon Yates. Both riders will try to chase victories. The Dutchman already has 5 to his name.

Borah-Hansgrohe 

The German team arrives with intentions for this 110th edition. The winner of the Giro in 2022, Jai Hindley, will be the team leader, accompanied by Emanuel Buchmann, who finished top 5 in 2019.

EF Education-EasyPost 

Richard Carapaz, a former Ineos rider, will be one of the team’s leaders during this Tour de France. He will be accompanied by the 2017 Tour de France runner-up, Rigoberto Uran. Andrey Amador will also be present to support the leader.

AG2R Citroën 

Ben O’Connor will be the team leader, the Australian will try this time to reach the podium at the Tour. Benoît Cosnefroy will also be present to target stage victories, along with Aurélien Paret-Peintre.
