These are the two new SUVs now available for order in France, two 6 or 7-seater vehicles that are 100% electric.

Kia has committed to offering a range of electric vehicles consisting of 15 models. Here are the first two vehicles that will be part of this new lineup. Last March, the brand announced the broad outlines of its future large SUV capable of accommodating between 6 and 7 people. Today, the brand has revealed all the vehicle’s specifications.

Available in Two Versions

The Kia EV 9 is available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive versions. Both models are equipped with a 99.8 kWh battery. The rear-wheel drive version is powered by a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor. It delivers a torque of 350 Nm and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. The vehicle’s range in the rear-wheel drive version is 541 km.

The all-wheel drive version features two 141 kW electric motors, for a total power of 283 kW, or 385 hp. Like the rear-wheel drive version, it provides a torque of 360 Nm and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds. Its estimated range is 497 km.

It is also possible to power electric objects, such as bikes or scooters, thanks to the Vehicle to Load system. The Vehicle to Gread feature is also available; it allows the vehicle’s battery energy to be redistributed to the grid.

Two Trims Available

The first version is called the Earth trim, available with the rear-wheel drive version of the vehicle. Inside, you’ll find screens, heated seats, and bidirectional charging, among other features. The second trim, named GT-Line, is available with both 6- and 7-seater versions, unlike the Earth trim, which is only available with the 7-seater. The second-row seats can swivel to face the rear row. The GT-Line version has a more sporty aesthetic.

Regarding colors, we know this is an important criterion. Yes, the gray color is available, unlike Fiat, which recently announced it would no longer offer vehicles in this gray color. Six colors are available: Pearl White, Iceberg Green, Opal Gray, Ebon Black, and Volcanic Red. The last color is offered for free to customers. Of course, some colors are exclusive to certain models: for the Earth trim, there is Ivory Gray. For the GT-Line trim, the available colors are Ocean Blue and Matte Ocean Blue.

What Are the Prices and Release Dates?

There are two models available in this new EV 9 range. The first, the EV 9 Earth trim, can be ordered starting at 78,000 euros. The second model, the EV 9 GT-Line trim, is priced at 86,000 euros.

Deliveries are expected to begin at the end of 2023—what better Christmas gift?
