September 2023 proves to be a record-breaking back-to-school period for BlaBlaCar Daily, the everyday carpooling app.

In the face of rising fuel prices, now reaching nearly 2 euros per liter on average, drivers are actively seeking ways to lighten this significant burden on their budgets. As a result, BlaBlaCar Daily, the leading platform dedicated to commuting carpooling, has seen a 50% increase in the number of trips made since the beginning of September compared to the same period last year.

Along with the rise in fuel prices, a second factor is encouraging carpooling adoption: the €100 Carpooling Bonus introduced by the Government. Available on BlaBlaCar Daily for all drivers starting to share their cars, this aid is welcome for motorists looking to ease their purchasing power. Launched in January 2023 as part of the National Daily Carpool Plan, this Bonus serves as a real catalyst for the practice’s growth, with more than 150,000 drivers already involved in short-distance trips since the start of the year.

Beyond the social aspect, this mode of transportation, where costs are shared among passengers, naturally helps reduce fuel expenses, especially in a context of continuously rising pump prices. The approach has found its audience, as more than 1.5 million trips per year are now shared via BlaBlaCar, according to the platform.
