Covoiturage

Carpooling continues to grow in Île-de-France thanks to a single booking platform and 12 defined and bookable routes.

900,000 people use carpooling every day to get to their workplace. Good for their wallets, to save time, and for the planet, it is one of the preferred mobility solutions for Île-de-France residents, alongside public transportation.

Encouraging Île-de-France residents to choose more responsible mobility involves developing more comfortable and accessible public transportation and transforming our relationship with cars by making them, together, more eco-friendly. To this end, and to facilitate easier access to public transportation for those who are the most distant, Île-de-France Mobilités is investing in the development of carpooling, with 2 million subsidized trips in 2023.

In 2024, carpooling continues to develop in Île-de-France with:

  • A single platform for all your trips. Today, 3 carpooling partners, Blablacar Daily, Karos, and Klaxit, enable trips subsidized by Île-de-France Mobilités in Île-de-France. In 2025, a single platform will allow you to book and plan your carpool trips with a single action. Why a single platform? To simplify access to the service, make carpooling a true mobility solution at the regional level, and avoid fraud.
  • 12 new routes dedicated to carpooling. By 2025, 12 dedicated carpooling routes will allow Île-de-France residents, especially in the Greater Crown, to easily reach their workplaces, public transportation, and major stations in the territory. The first 3 routes will open in 2024 in the Saclay plateau (between Orsay and Vélizy, Le-Christ-de-Saclay and Cernay, and Gif-sur-Yvette and Saint-Rémy-Guyancourt), followed in 2025 by 9 others in the Greater Crown (the route of the other nine routes is currently being developed).
