Carpooling Île-de-France Mobilities

Starting from May 26, 2025, Île-de-France Mobilités inaugurates a new innovative and eco-friendly mode of transportation for residents of Île-de-France.

This initiative of launching a first carpools line in Île-de-France on the Saclay plateau aims to facilitate travel while addressing the region’s environmental and social challenges.

How does it work?

The concept differs from traditional carpooling services. Passengers indicate their transportation need from a stop through the app, an SMS, or a phone call. Registered drivers on the app are then alerted and can pick up passengers along their route. This service operates from Monday to Friday, from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.

To encourage drivers, Île-de-France Mobilités offers attractive financial incentives:

  • €0.50 for each trip over 5 km declared during peak hours, even without passengers.
  • €2 per passenger transported for trips over 2 km.

Passengers will enjoy free trips during the first months of launch, making it a perfect opportunity to test this transportation mode risk-free.

Why this initiative by Île-de-France Mobilités?

Facing traffic challenges in the Greater Paris area, this project aims to reduce CO2 emissions, improve mobility, and complement public transportation services. Nearly 90% of cars in Île-de-France carry only one person on daily commutes. By promoting ride-sharing, Île-de-France Mobilités hopes to transform these habits.

For residents or workers around the Saclay plateau, this new line promises a practical, economical, and environmentally friendly alternative. Drivers and passengers alike, the carpooling adventure awaits you!
