Rather than excelling on the track, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies was recognized for its efforts in decarbonizing its activities.
As the leading force behind Stellantis Motorsport’s proactive decarbonization program, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies identified numerous levers across four main areas to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and improve its environmental performance. These four areas include the design and manufacturing of cars and spare parts, logistics, the operations team, and of course, employee engagement.
Within the framework of the « Low-Impact Carbon Award », Team Peugeot TotalEnergies focused on three of the four levers proposed by the FIA WEC and the ACO: measuring its carbon footprint related to greenhouse gases, consuming less and better, and finally committing to a significant reduction of its emissions by 2030.

Stellantis Motorsport works in collaboration with its partners TotalEnergies and Capgemini, experts in their fields. For example, the use of renewable fuel from TotalEnergies by WEC competitors results in a reduction of over 66% in emissions. Moreover, engineers are now trained to incorporate eco-design principles into their areas of expertise, particularly promoting the use of alternative materials, and procurement teams are integrating environmental criteria into their tender processes. On the logistics side, the team collaborates with organizers to adopt a more sustainable approach. This includes promoting maritime transport, reducing the weight of transported cargo, optimizing routes, and minimizing team travel for testing or race weekends—all actions implemented since 2022. To involve employees in this major project, awareness workshops have been organized at the Satory factory to discuss and exchange views on climate change issues, such as through a climate mural.
Stellantis Motorsport surpasses the objectives set by various motorsport regulations, aiming for a substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This goal is part of a broader policy to make our sport more sustainable, which has now become a major societal issue. One of the first steps is to obtain the FIA’s 3-star environmental accreditation label as early as 2023.
