Can’t wait for summer: BMW unveils the new M4 convertible

The German manufacturer adds a touch of flavor to its lineup with the arrival of a redesigned version of its M4 cabriolet.

Anyone who has ever heard a BMW M4 on the street only hopes of one thing: to someday be behind the wheel of its convertible version, with ears in direct contact with the exhausts.

This new offering is accompanied by a slight stylistic and mechanical update. The German model features redesigned headlights and new alloy wheel designs.

Under the hood, the 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbo engine gains 20 horsepower to reach 530 horsepower at 6250 rpm. Unfortunately, with CO2 emissions exceeding 200 grams/km, the ecological tax in France will be 60,000 euros to be added to the base price of 125,000 euros.

Top Performance

Acceleration to 100 km/h requires 3.7 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The M4 Competition package raises this limit to 290 km/h. The transmission is all-wheel drive via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. But BMW adds a trick: when the driving aids are disabled, the M4 becomes a simple rear-wheel drive!

The production of this new BMW M4 Cabriolet will begin soon, with sales expected in March 2024. Its price will be 127,700 euros in France for the Competition M xDrive Cabriolet version, to which the 60,000 euros eco tax must obviously be added.

Will we still see them passing in the street? Hopefully, although these kinds of toys are destined to disappear in the coming years on the altar of electrification.
