Tesla Cybertruck Taunts China

Promotion or provocation? The American Tesla has officially begun the tour of its Cybertruck in China.

We showed you a few days ago the first photos of the Cybertruck’s arrival in China. As soon as it was acclimated to the country and the time difference, the large tour of the American pickup started simultaneously in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Xi’an, and Chongqing. In two posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday evening and this morning, Tesla Asia shared photos of the Cybertruck in these cities, officially announcing the launch of the tour.

Fans of the brand have until March 31 to submit the cities where they would like to see the Cybertruck, although it is not known how long the electric vehicles will be on display in the country.

However, don’t expect to see videos of the American pickup in motion. Despite the success of this impressive operation, Elon Musk acknowledged that it would be “very difficult” to homologate the Cybertruck in China. The strict safety standards for pedestrians and the overall size of permitted vehicles currently prevent registration of the massive vehicle with its armored body and sharp edges.
