Kia EV3 Paris Motor Show

Good news keeps coming for the 2024 Auto World Cup, which will feature Kia’s presence.

Kia has confirmed its participation in the 2024 Auto World Cup to be held in Paris, Porte de Versailles, from Monday, October 14th to Sunday, October 20th. The new 100% electric EV3 SUV, offering up to 600 km of range, will be the main attraction at Kia’s booth. Alongside it, other new models and services aimed at meeting the mobility needs of the public will also be showcased by the Korean brand.

The EV3 measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. It features an electric propulsion system based on Kia’s modular electric platform E-GMP and utilizes Kia’s fourth-generation battery technology. In its standard version, it is exclusively offered with a 58.3 kWh battery, while the long-range version benefits from an 81.4 kWh battery. The charging management system allows recharging the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 31 minutes.

The announcement this week of cancelling the Geneva Motor Show is a clear sign of the growing disinterest among manufacturers in major auto shows. Of course, this is largely due to the exorbitant costs of stand rental and setup, but more importantly, it reflects a shift in behavior driven by digital means. It is now easier and much less expensive to present a new car via video conference such as Dacia with the new Duster than to transport equipment and staff to a show. However, we still believe nothing replaces face-to-face contact for getting a true sense of a car, and to celebrate Kia’s initiative, we look forward to visiting their stand!
