On the Bridge of Avignon, You Ride an Electric Bike
This page is translated from the original post "Sur le pont d’Avignon, on y roule en vélo électrique" in French.

After 15 years of collaboration, Grand Avignon renews its trust in Fifteen and strengthens their partnership.
Since June 5, the Vélopop’ service has transitioned entirely to electric with 300 bikes and 29 charging stations spread across 3 municipalities of the Grand Avignon agglomeration: Avignon, Villeneuve lez Avignon, and Le Pontet. Since the service’s inauguration in 2009, the fleet of bicycles had bravely withstood the test of time, but it was becoming urgent to modernize the fleet. At the helm is Fifteen, a French company with over 15 years of experience, holding a leading position in Europe in the design, manufacture, and deployment of public bike rental services with more than 50,000 bikes deployed in nearly 10 countries.
New bike for Avignon
With an aluminum frame suited for all body types, a front disc brake, electric assistance without gears that adapts to the terrain and the user, and reinforced tires, the new Fifteen electric bike offers good performance with the robustness of a self-service bike. The Fifteen charging stations can accommodate up to 10 bikes in the space of one parking spot. The bikes magnetically connect to each other for charging: this way, the community and residents avoid heavy roadworks.
Through the Vélopop app (developed as a white label by Fifteen and used in more than 10 French cities including Marseille, Auxerre, Brest…), users can find a bike nearby, reserve and unlock their bike, calculate and track their route via integrated GPS guidance. They can also manage their profile, choose their subscription plan, or register their Orizo transport card to use it as an unlocking key.
Thanks to these ultra-flexible technologies, Grand Avignon will have the option to complement its offering with a long-term rental service on the same bike fleet, as is the case in the Auxerrois agglomeration community.
