Future Tesla Models: Everything You Need to Know

During Tesla’s annual shareholders’ meeting, Elon Musk discussed the brand’s new electric vehicles.

Before addressing the new cars, the head of Tesla confirmed that the manufacturer’s utility range is soon to expand with a pickup truck, a bus, and a very long-range version of the Semi, which will be aptly named Semi Heavy in reference to SpaceX’s launch vehicle. The pickup truck and bus are logical choices as demand for this type of Zero Emission vehicle continues to grow, unlike that for passenger vehicles. The Chinese manufacturer BYD has recently secured the London bus market. Shocking! Tesla technology can be immediately applied to these types of vehicles. For example, imagine a utility vehicle based on the Cybertruck, or even the Model X, and a bus built on the Semi platform. This is just a simple bodywork job.

Become a VTC without driving

Elon Musk was, however, more expected to talk about the compact, affordable, and yet still invisible Model 2. This compact electric vehicle is expected to be the first to enter production, starting in the second half of 2025. Tesla plans to offer two versions, one with a steering wheel and the other without, which will be the autonomous Robotaxi. The latter will be unveiled on August 8, as announced by Elon Musk in early April on his social media X (formerly Twitter). By using the same platform for both the compact and the Robotaxi, owners will, if they wish, be able to monetize their vehicles by including them for a few hours or days in the commercial taxi fleet. A model akin to Uber or Airbnb on which Musk firmly and very Yankees stated “This will happen, mark my words,” meaning “This will happen, believe me.” We can’t wait to see, as this virtual VTC option is not without interest!

To ensure a complete overview, all that’s missing is the Roadster and its 0 to 100 km/h in 1 second. Prototypes are running, studio photos are ready for the commercial launch, all that’s needed is a little push on the Start button to begin production, but Elon Musk doesn’t seem in a hurry…
